Trekking Star 2 High Speed Door

The Trekking Star 2 high speed productivity door has a self supporting, corrosion resistant powder coated steel frame.Designed for use in exterior areas where wind ratings up to 110mph are required and as an alternative to traditional rigid steel rolling doors. These unique doors are also used in interior applications where high air pressure exists or insulation for temperature or sound is required. The Trekking Star 2 has an average speed of 48” per second which helps maintain separation of areas and reduces energy consumption. The unique vertical folding design uses straps to pull the curtain from the floor up without rolling it around a drum. This leaves only soft, flexible curtain folds exposed to impacts rather than rigid bottom bars like other high speed doors.
The door's self-supporting, compact frame ames it adaptable to customer's site opening requirements

The frame consists of a U-shaped horizontal beam (1) that opens downwards, and two U-shaped support posts (10) which also serve to guide the curtain. Over 13 feet wide, the horizontal beam for the wider span is reinforced. The driveshaft (rolling rod) is made of new composite material which dramatically increases both strength and safety over conventional shafts.
When installed on a solid floor, this door is self-supporting. It may be secured onto almost any wall surface, or made to stand off the wall with just two brackets, plates or other attachments (8). An optional motor cover protects the motor unit. The motor (5) may be positioned at either end of the horizontal beam, to give the full clear opening height required.
The design allows for the inclusion of a pedestrian door on either side of the curtain.

Patented Fold-Up Curtain
The curtain opens from bottom to top, retaining more heat compared to doors which open horizontally and which permit heated air that has risen to escape more readily. A principal characteristic of this door is that the curtain is not rolled around a drum but is hung directly from the beam (1) (2) and simply folded vertically. This design provides important benefits for use with exterior openings:
- The curtain is sealed along its entire upper edge (2). This is critical to the retention of heated air that has risen toward the ceiling.
- The sides of the curtain fit tightly into the U-shaped vertical support posts (10), further inhibiting heat loss.
- The bottom of the door is designed to seal tightly to the floor when closed (12).
- The curtain is made of a multi-layer, UV-protected, highly durable, wear-resistant PVC fabric, which creates an efficient insulating barrier.
- Support tubes (9), inserted into the soft, but durable curtain, give exceptional resistance to winds.
- The folding technology also allows thicker materials to be used. Customers may choose between:
- Single skin curtain (r = 1.2 heat insulation factor)

- Patented double skin design encloses an insulating air cushion and provides twice as much heat insulation (r = 2.4).

- Single skin curtain (r = 1.2 heat insulation factor)
Full range of opening/closing systems to suit your requirements
Manual Operation
- Push-button held down to open curtain
- Push-button held down to close curtain
Automatic Operation
- Opening by pull-cord, push-button, induction loop, motion detector, radio transmitter, etc.
- Automatic closing by a timer, adjustable to traffic speed.
Unique Nergeco fold-up technology

On the Nergeco Fold-Up Door, each individual tube is moved vertically by a unique multi-strap system. During operation, the curtain remains under total control, while the patented folding system ensures that only flexible, soft, shock-absorbing folds are presented at the underside of the moving curtain. This flexible, lightweight underside is safer for traffic.

An option to keep people clear from moving straps and provide better thermal insulation is the strap protector.

Additional Information
- Structure comes prepared for attachment to wall (8).
- Operation is indicated by two flashing orange lights (6) (Optional)
- Protected thru-beam photocells on both sides of the curtain (two sets) prevent the door from closing if an obstruction is present (11).
- Black and yell tape for floor safety markings (13) (Optional).
- Complete operating and maintenance manuals are provided.
- Control box NEMA 4X electromechanical or PLC (Optional). UL labeled and listed.
